DESCRIPTION: This is a Design/Build project to add northbound and southbound I-95 entrance and exit ramps between Butler Boulevard and Bowden Road, and lengthen turn-lanes on Belfort Road to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety. Click to following links to view project renderings:
STATUS
Current Activity: CONSTRUCTION PHASE: All work for Belfort Road has been completed. New pavement on I-95, southbound I-95 exit ramp and northbound I-95 entrance ramp is complete. Striping, corridor clean up and mowing has been completed. The new lanes on Belfort Road, I-95 NB and SB, including the exit ramp onto Bowden, were opened to traffic this month. ITS and punch-list work are ongoing.
Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is $14 million.
Schedule: Construction completion anticipated in the second quarter of 2010.
DBE/MBE: DBE participation will conform with JTA policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES: Utility relocation coordination. Coordination of this improvement with planning work on US-1 to I-95 link, as a component of the JTB/I-95 ultimate configuration.
