STAR Cards allow you to load cash value or passes on to the convenience of a card. Use the cash value toward your single-ride bus fare, or more frequent riders can save with single-and multi-day passes.
You can purchase your STAR Card online or from Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at locations throughout Jacksonville. TVMs accept $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. There is a change limit of $10 and change is provided in Susan B. Anthony $1 coins. Customers may also use their debit or credit card for purchases.
Single and multi-day passes start the first time they are used and run for consecutive days for the length of time purchased (i.e. a 7-Day Pass runs for seven days starting on the date it is first used). Rides are unlimited for the designated time period purchased.

Am I required to get a STAR Card?
Customers with a Florida driver's license or other Florida-issued identification do not have to get a Senior ID STAR Card to ride for free. They can simply scan the back of their ID on the mobile validator and show the bus operator their photo upon boarding.
Our patrons who are age 65 and older are eligible to receive a Senior ID STAR Card. This card is required for non-Florida residents in order to ride for free and must be presented upon boarding. Passengers who don't have a valid Senior ID STAR Card, Florida Driver's License, or other Florida issued identification must pay the base cash fare of $1.75.
What documentation is required to obtain a Senior ID STAR Card?
Please bring with you a government-issued photo ID or Driver's License showing your date of birth. Scroll down for locations.
