Our future is on the road, not down the road.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) works to ensure it is prepared for the next era of transportation, while also meeting Northeast Florida’s current needs.

The JTA board voted unanimously last week to proceed with the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study of the Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) to meet regulatory requirements. This study includes both an alternative analysis and 30% design plans for Phase II. The design plans will transform the elevated platform into a Connected Automated Vehicle corridor, further building on the Bay Street Innovation Corridor, which is on schedule to open June 2025.

Last month, the JTA unveiled new art installments at seven shelters at the Soutel Hub and along the Northwest Corridor. This artwork was chosen from submissions by local artists to enhance the transit experience in underserved communities. This new artwork is part of the JTA’s efforts to improve amenities, safety and accessibility at more than 100 bus stops. Learn more here.

Your transportation experience recently got a bit sweeter. The JTA welcomed Cinotti’s Bakery & Sandwich Shop and Grounds of GRACE Coffee to the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center in LaVilla. Located on the first floor, these new additions are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to serve a variety of breakfast, lunch, sweet treats, coffee, tea and more.
