The latest updates on a better-connected Northeast Florida

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is starting the new year with milestones to create a stronger, better-connected Northeast Florida.

In early January, the JTA celebrated the completion of the San Pablo Road project, which included adding a new lane, bike lanes and sidewalks, as well as utility improvements. These improvements prioritized safety, traffic flow and drainage. Two years ahead of schedule, this project also marks the completion of MobilityWorks 1.0. The JTA will continue upgrade projects across the region as part of MobilityWorks 2.0.

We recently honored the newest graduating class of 24 Professional Bus Operators. After completing the Fixed Route Bus Operator Training Program, this dedicated group is now committed to serving the Jacksonville community. While we celebrate a new class entering our group of bus operators, 16 operators have also reached an incredible milestone – over 1 million miles of safe driving! The JTA is proud of their service and commitment to our riders.

Students are back in school and the JTA is here to support you through the JTA MyRide2School program. All Duval County middle and high school students can board any fixed route bus or First Coast Flyer for free. With more than 34 routes stopping at or near our schools, learn more today. Additionally, to support college students in our community, check out the JTA’s College Student Annual Pass Program, another option for free rides.
