JACKSONVILLE, FL. — October 16, 2023 — Today, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) hosts its inaugural Regional Capital Infrastructure Summit, bringing together small businesses, prime contractors, and vendors in Northeast Florida to learn more about working with the JTA through networking and 1:1 sessions with government leaders and fireside chats.
A highlight of the summit will be a Shark Tank-style pitch competition in which local organizations will present their plans for contracting with the JTA to an evaluation committee. The top three organizations will be awarded contracts with the JTA for three future construction and capital projects.
“I am thrilled to have so many future JTA vendors and small contractors with us today at the Regional Capital Infrastructure Summit,” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “The JTA prides itself on continually improving our region’s infrastructure through local vendors and small businesses, and this summit is our way to further the success of our long-term capital programs that will shape how people move throughout our region in the coming decades.”
JTA’s Executive Leadership Team, Board Chair, and other members of JTA leadership will speak to the 400 attendees about the organization’s 30-year MobilityWorks 2.0 plan and 5-year Capital Improvement plan. Both plans aim to enhance Jacksonville’s major infrastructure, construction, and road projects.
